- It's OK to mix colors and flooring types in the same room. It's an easier-than-ever custom look.
- Make it custom. Do you want trim and accessories to coordinate or to match exactly?
- Lead the eye from one area around the room to another, from the floor to the windows to a prized piece of furniture to a special spot of color.
- If the floor is patterned, ease up on wall, window and furniture texture. If the floor is a solid, be more creative.
